Weskate 2011Weskate 2011 UpdateIn April 2009, Palmerston Skating Club was awarded the opportunity to host Weskate 2011! This will be the first time Palmerston Skating Club has hosted our largest area competition! PSC is also the only club in the Town of Minto that has an ice surface large enough to host. Sometime in the next two month, Skate Canada will assist us in selecting our date (it will fall on 3 days in late January 2011). Keep watching for updates! UPDATE: We were finally able to select our dates!! We will be hosting Weskate from Jan 28 - 30, 2011 at our own Palmerston Arena!! Yippee! Battle of the BladesBattle of the BladesCBC's newest reality show premiers Sunday October 4th! "Battle of the Blades" takes teams of two, one female figure skater and one male hockey player, and puts them in competition with each other. A Dancing with the Stars style show - but on skates! Be sure to check your local listings for show times! Paperless!PSC Goes Paperless!!With the launch of our new website, Palmerston Skating Club is taking the first steps to go paperless! By reducing the amount of photocopying and paper generated by the club, we not only save money, but reduce the size of our carbon footprint.Should I Volunteer?Volunteering - Good for You!The best way to learn more about your skaters sport - is to volunteer! Volunteering within the club, while helping to ensure the club remains viable for future skaters, also benefits you! Carnival 2010Carnival 2010This year's carnival is scheduled for Sunday February 28th, 2010. Our theme this year is "Canada: Coast to Coast". It is a celebration of everything Canadian and is perfectly timed to coincide with the closing ceremonies of the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games scheduled for later that evening. NEW this year is the addition of our popular Spagetti Supper to take place immediately following the Carnival! All Carnival details will be released to parents in early January 2010! |
